Magazine Assignment on
Interview one of the characters. The character’s tone and personality should reveal itself while being consistent with the character’s personality in the play. The interview should be a snapshot of the character’s life years later, as in “Where is s/he now?”
Create an advertisement in which a character from one of the plays (or characters) sell(s) a product that befits the personality or personalities. A connection should exist between the character and the product.
Write your own “Gertrude talks Back” from the perspective of a character from one of the plays.
Write a feature article on a character who is likely to appear in another play, movie, TV Show, etc. that should befit the character’s personality (as in type-casting) or it should be a complete departure from it. In other words, your character is going to make a cameo appearance or make a movie and you are covering the story. You may quote the character; for example, so and so was heard saying,"blah, blah, blah" about his/her upcoming performance. Or you can quote a real, famous actor/actress anticipating working with your Shakespearean character of choice. (To be written in columns.)
Your magazine should have a cover, featuring all five plays, at least one character of whom will be “on the cover” and the others will be represented in the corners with text ("what's inside").
