Project A.C.E.S
'All Children Exercise Simultaneously'
Project ACES was created by physical education teacher Len Saunders in 1989 as a method of motivating children to exercise. ACES takes place on the first Wednesday in May as part of National Physical Fitness and Sports Month along with National Physical Education Week. It has been labeled as "the world's largest exercise class" by the media.
All five elementary schools in the Port Washington School District take part in project ACES, with each school doing approximately 15-20 minutes of dancing. This years dances will include the Cha Cha Slide, Cotten Eye Joe, Hey Baby, Thriller and The Cupid Shuffle. All parents are welcome, and encouraged, to come and watch.
